Firmware Upgrade
To upgrade the drive, you need the DriveUpgradeTool_....exe utility program. During the installation of the commissioning software the tool is installed by default (call via the Windows start menu).
Source files for firmware upgrades are available on the CDROM and in the KDN. Older firmware versions (if freely available) can also be found there.
Source files for firmware upgrades are available on the CDROM and on the website.
With this tool you can perform upgrades for firmware, motor database, driving profile table and PLC (macro) program. Possible interfaces are Serial PC interface (COM1...10) with standard serial cable (null modem) or with USB to serial converter.
Requirement: Microsoft DotNet Version 3.5 or higher must be installed.
Preparation for serial transmission
- Power voltage must be switched off.
- DC link voltage must be <100V.
- 24 VDC auxiliary power supply for the drive must be switched on.
- A serial RS-232 connection (null modem) between PC and drive (X6) must exist.
- The RS-232 interface must not be used by any other software at the same time.
- The DriveUpgradeTool utility and the source file with which the drive is to be upgraded must be stored on your PC.
- Parameters and motion blocks must be stored in the EEPROM or in external files, because the Flash EPROM will be deleted. If you are not sure about saving the parameters, start the setup software of the servo amplifier, save parameters and motion blocks in the EEPROM and close the setup software again.
