Communication with the servo amplifier is made through ASCII commands. A complete object reference is part of the online help or can be downloaded from our website.
Commands sent to the servo amplifier are marked by "-->". The answers from the servo amplifier appear without any preceding characters.
The last 500 lines are displayed.
Enter the ASCII command here, with the parameters. End the entry with RETURN or use the APPLY button to start the transmission.
The terminal software should be used only by experts. In many instances, there will be no confirmation query.
Pressing the F3 function key recalls the last commands (max last 100 commands).
A simple terminal emulation is implemented on the screen page "Terminal". It is not necessary to use an external terminal program to record, for example, a boot-UP message of the amplifier. Terminal emulation is activated by placing a check mark at "raw serial mode".
Setting the check mark interrupts the ongoing DRIVEGUI.exe communication. From this point on, only the data that is entered in the command line will be transferred to the amplifier.
All serial outputs of the amplifier are displayed in the terminal window. In addition, these data are stored in a log file (name = terminalxxx.log, xxx means date/time). The file is placed in the DRIVEGUI.exe installation directory and can be viewed at a later time. When the terminal emulation is disabled, the DRIVEGUI.exe connection to the amplifier is reconnected.
Four ASCII command sequences can be defined.
The individual commands are marked by the character ";" (semicolon). The ASCII sequences are automatically assigned to the function keys F7, F8, F9 and F10. When pressing the corresponding function key or clicking on the corresponding field, the configured ASCII sequence is transmitted once to the amplifier. The function keys are available on all DRIVEGUI.exe pages and can also be used when DRIVEGUI.exe communication is in progress.
